Planning a wedding can be stressful. I have seen 100’s, maybe 1,000’s of weddings take place at Offley Place. So I have learnt a thing or two about wedding planning. I will share my top tips for wedding planning to help you with your magical day.
If you're planning a wedding, there are a few things you should know.
The first is that you shouldn't be afraid to ask for help. If you hire a wedding planner, they'll be able to take away some of the stress of planning and make sure that everything comes together seamlessly on your big day.

Here are our top ten tips for planning your big day:
- Start early. You'll have more time to plan, and less pressure to get it all done at once.
- Don't stress about the details. If you're stressing about the details, it's because you're not focused on what's really important: the people who are there to celebrate with you. —you'll be so busy with everything else anyway!
- Be realistic about your budget, and try to stick with it as much as possible. If you need to make some compromises on your vision, do it! (We can help you with this.)
- Make sure all of your vendors are on the same page. If you don't make it clear to your photographer and videographer what type of photos and videos you'd like, they might miss out on something special that could have happened during the wedding day if they had just spoken with one another beforehand!
- Don't forget about how much time it takes for everyone in your bridal party to get ready for the wedding—including yourself! It takes a lot longer than you think to put on those heels and do your hair and makeup. So plan accordingly!
- Be prepared for anything! Have some extra cash on hand in case something goes wrong (like if a vendor needs to be paid), or if someone needs help getting home after their car breaks down… or after they've had too much to drink at the reception!
- Remember that all of your friends and family members love you, so try not to take anything too personally during this crazy time!
- Don't forget: there are tons of resources out there for brides-to-be so don't be shy about asking for help along the way! (We can even help if you want!)
- Make sure you're having fun, because if you aren't, no one else will be either!
- Remember that you're not planning a wedding for anyone but yourself and your partner.

If there's anything in particular that makes this day special for YOU as a couple then let EVERYONE know about it so they can help celebrate your story together with you both on this special occasion (and not just theirs). You could include something as simple as cards at each table or even small gifts from each guest as part of their gift bag!
