Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin's Iconic Wedding: How to Recreate the Magic

Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin's Iconic Wedding: How to Recreate the Magic

Hailey and Justin Bieber’s wedding day was simply iconic. Their South Carolina celebration was full of the couple’s playful personalities and little creative touches. Although it was a few years ago, this wedding was the catalyst for SO many trends that we are still obsessed with today. So I wanted to take you through the eight key elements that this couple got so right and how we can recreate them for your special day.

This is your ultimate guide to capturing some of Hailey & Justin’s wedding magic.

I’m Nazlee, the Director of Offley Place, an award-winning wedding venue where we’ve had the pleasure of hosting countless beautiful weddings over the years. Having recently tied the knot myself, I’m excited to share insider tips and tricks from both sides of the aisle to help you craft the perfect curated wedding. You can find me on YouTube and Instagram for even more wedding prep tips.

Let’s explore the details of Hailey and Justin Bieber’s enchanted wedding day. Their wedding celebration had so much of their personalities in it, creating a gorgeous setup that was both completely striking and also very original. I’ll break down how you can incorporate elements of this iconic wedding day to create a similar wonderland feel for your own wedding.

Rehearsal Dinner and After Party

One of my favourite moments from Hayley and Justin's wedding took place even before the big day itself. They hosted a classic rehearsal dinner at their venue, but the real highlight came afterwards. Their entire wedding party was whisked away by water taxis to a lively Rehearsal Dinner After Party, setting the perfect tone for the celebrations to come.

Instead of doing anything overly formal like the rehearsal dinner, they created a relaxed vibe with casual seating, and transformed a private lounge into their own entertainment haven. Guests were dancing, singing karaoke, and even bowling! They’d also set up an outdoor cinema with pillows spread across the lawn, screening their favourite love film, The Notebook. They called it their ‘pre-wedding sleepover.’

Cocktails were flowing, and late-night snacks like fried chicken, french fries, and sliders were on offer, along with ice cream and sweets throughout the evening. To me, this sounds like so much fun, as if they really sat down and thought of all the things they'd love to do the night before their wedding and recreated it with all their loved ones. None of it is difficult to organise, but the concept of a ‘pre-wedding sleepover’ is so lighthearted and playful.

It also reminds us how important the events around the wedding are, as they truly set the mood and build excitement. Whether you're having a rehearsal dinner, a welcome dinner, or even if most of your guests are staying in a nearby hotel the night before the wedding, you can absolutely create something lighthearted and fun like this - you’re already having a version of a ‘pre-wedding sleepover,’ so it's just about deciding what you'd like yours to include!

If you love the idea of screening a film with fun snacks, this is entirely doable. Work with your venue to hire a TV or projector—or, if they don’t have one, bring your own. You can set up a cosy area, indoors or out, for guests to relax and enjoy. Organise a variety of snacks—maybe even a pick-and-mix station or a popcorn machine to add to the fun.

If you're more into dancing or karaoke, that’s easy to arrange too. You could hire old-school arcade games or keep it simple with a DIY setup.

Whatever your idea of fun is, take some time to think about how you can incorporate that into your wedding festivities. Don’t underestimate the power of injecting personality and playfulness into the events surrounding your big day—it’s your chance to do what you love most with the people you love most. How often does that happen, really?!

A Timeless Dress With a Twist

Hailey Baldwin Wedding Veil

Hailey Bieber’s wedding look was the definition of timeless elegance with a modern edge. Designed by the iconic Virgil Abloh at the Off-White studio in Milan, her custom gown was pure sophistication at its finest. The off-the-shoulder lace sleeves and low back added a hint of classic romance, while the intricate appliqué and pearl flowers brought a more contemporary vibe. The mermaid silhouette, combined with lace, appliqués, and delicate pearls, exuded grace and femininity.

However, it was the cathedral-length veil that truly stole the show. Boldly embroidered with the phrase ‘Till death do us part,’ it added a punchy, fresh twist to her otherwise classic ensemble. This pairing of a traditional, elegant dress with striking, modern detailing made her look unforgettable.

Embroidered veils are all the rage right now, but many feature more delicate lettering. Hailey’s bold, statement lettering is still such an exciting and daring choice. For my Persian wedding ceremony in Stockholm, I had a fully bespoke embroidered veil, designed by the incredible luxury veil designer Rebecca Anne Designs. Her work is completely custom, but she also has a few similarly bold veil designs in her collection that I adore.

Minimal Jewellery

Hailey Bieber’s wedding day jewellery really caught my attention for its simplicity, showing that sometimes less truly is more. She wore classic diamond stud earrings and skipped a necklace entirely. This minimalist choice allowed her dress and natural beauty to shine without distraction.

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when picking out wedding jewellery, as it’s one of those final touches. I remember for my wedding day, I was stressing about which earrings and necklace to pair with my dress and whether they matched, or if I needed a set. It took a while before I stopped to  consider if I actually needed both earrings and a necklace. When I found the perfect earrings, I realised I didn’t need a necklace at all, which was such a relief. One less thing to worry about!

So here’s a reminder: you don’t need every piece of jewellery - necklace, earrings, bracelet, or extra rings. It can be too much, and with a stunning wedding dress, you won’t need much to complement it. Don’t feel pressured to choose something flashy or bold just because it’s a special day. A more understated look can bring that timeless elegance, allowing your dress and personality to take centre stage.

When selecting your wedding jewellery, opt for subtle pieces that enhance your overall look without overpowering it. Whether it’s delicate earrings, a simple bracelet, or a dainty necklace, choose items that complement your dress and reflect your personal style. Often, the smallest details make the biggest impact.

Hailey Bieber’s pared-back, minimalist look is a perfect example of how elegant and striking simplicity can be. Take note of the power of diamond studs!

Intimate Wedding Size

Hailey and Justin’s decision to keep their wedding small and intimate brought a special, personal touch to their day. They chose to share the moment with the people who mattered most - those who had been part of their whole journey and remained important in their lives.

This approach created a more meaningful, personalised experience for their closest friends and family. It’s a reminder that you don’t need a large guest list to have a big celebration.

Guest lists are one of the most challenging aspects of wedding planning. Deciding who’s included, who’s not, and managing expectations can be tough, and the guests you do invite play a huge role in shaping the atmosphere of your day. If you’re aiming for a more intimate wedding, it’s important to set that boundary early, communicate with your family, and explain why you’re choosing a smaller group of people, whether it’s because you feel more comfortable with a close-knit gathering or prefer a more relaxed, intimate vibe.

With a smaller wedding, your choice of venue naturally reflects this, helping to create a cosy, connected atmosphere. Opting for a venue with a smaller capacity can also keep you on track with your guest count, as the space itself will set the limit.

We had an intimate wedding celebration in Stockholm with just 40 guests, and it was absolutely perfect. We had the chance to speak to everyone and during the more personal moments, like the ceremony and speeches, it felt right to share them with a small group of our most cherished people. If you want to create this atmosphere for your wedding, go for it. A smaller setting allows for deeper connections and more heartfelt moments.

By focusing on quality over quantity, you can fill your wedding day with love, gratitude, and unforgettable memories with those who mean the most to you.

Transform Your Venue

Hailey and Justin Bieber transformed their wedding venue into a magical woodland wonderland. With flickering candlelight, Spanish moss, and lavender flowers draped from the trees, guests were transported into what felt like a fairytale forest. According to interviews, Hailey had always dreamed of a woodland setting since she was a child, and they brought that vision to life beautifully.

I love the idea of bringing nature indoors with hanging foliage and using trees as centrepieces instead of traditional flowers or bud vases. Adding twinkling string lights creates a dreamy, enchanting atmosphere. Candles, whether real or LED, can add warmth and romance, while lush greenery and flowers make the venue feel vibrant and natural.

Recently at Offley Place, we had a wedding where the couple created their own take on this twinkling woodland theme. They added hanging foliage around the skylight and strung lights across the venue, making the evening feel truly magical.

These decor elements are simple, but when combined, they create something spectacular and unforgettable. If you’re not particularly keen on flowers, this is a stunning and unique alternative worth considering.

Touches of Crystal

This might have been a micro-trend at their wedding, but if you’ve watched my recent YouTube video on New York Bridal Fashion Week trends, you’ll know that crystal is back! We all love a little pop of glitz and glamour, and the touches Hailey and Justin included added such a fun, luxurious element to their day.

First, each table featured a crystalised bottle of personalised Moët champagne, adorned with the couple’s names and wedding date. This special, opulent detail doubled as décor, standing out beautifully against the greenery on the tablescape.

The second shimmering detail came from Hailey’s Celine leather jacket, with the word “wife” embellished in tiny crystals on the back. While I’ve seen many jackets with painted lettering, the crystal embellishments brought an extra layer of glamour to the look.

With so much of their wedding decor rooted in natural elements and greenery, these subtle touches of sparkle brought just the right amount of added luxury.

Wedding Trainers

Hailey Bieber made a bold and praised choice by changing into wedding trainers for the evening reception. That’s right—she hit the dance floor in trainers, and we absolutely love it!

In the world of celebrity weddings, there’s often pressure to stay perfectly polished all day. Hailey’s choice made her feel more down-to-earth and relatable, just like the rest of us!

No matter how comfortable your wedding shoes are, the day is long, and you’ll be wearing them for hours. Even if you’ve chosen the perfect pair, you might want to switch to something more comfortable by the time the reception starts.

For my own reception, I opted for silk ballet flats—they still felt bridal but were much more comfortable. If trainers are more your style, find a pair you adore. They’ll make for a fun, stylish outfit change. There are some fantastic bridal trainers out there—like the Jimmy Choo Rome trainers, for example. A friend of mine wore something similar at her wedding, and not only did they look stunning on the day, but she’s continued to wear them afterwards, elevating her everyday outfits. Plus, let’s face it—you’re likely to wear your wedding trainers more often than your heels!

Black and White Photo Booth

And finally, the iconic black-and-white photo booth! Many of the photos we’ve seen from Hailey and Justin’s wedding come from this booth, and it’s easy to see why. Guests absolutely love a photo booth. It’s a fun alternative to a guestbook, and everyone enjoys sharing their snaps on Instagram.

Photo booth pictures have a spontaneous, playful charm that contrasts with the more formal shots taken by your photographer. A photo booth provides entertainment for your guests and adds an extra layer of fun to your event.

Black and white adds a timeless touch. It’s incredibly flattering and makes everyone look fantastic. It elevates the usual photo booth pictures, giving them a more elegant, cohesive feel. If you want all your photo booth photos to be monochrome, just let your photo booth company know in advance so they can set it up accordingly.

It’s a simple yet stylish twist on the classic photo booth, adding a sophisticated touch with a touch of A-list glamour.
