Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi, yes, the son of rock legend Jon Bon Jovi, have officially tied the knot in the most romantic way imaginable. The couple exchanged vows in a dreamy and ultra-private ceremony in Tuscany, Italy, surrounded by their nearest and dearest.
Their wedding was the perfect balance of really timeless grandeur and a sense of beautiful, heartfelt intimacy. If you’re dreaming of a day that feels personal and full of meaning while still exuding elegance, then this is 100% a celebration you’ll want to take notes from.
I've gone into detail on all the stunning details of their day, and how you can recreate a touch of that magic for your own.

A Romantic Proposal with a Family Heirloom
Millie and Jake’s wedding journey began in April 2023 with an engagement announcement that melted hearts across Instagram.
Millie posted a black-and-white photograph alongside lyrics from Taylor Swift’s Lover, capturing the tender essence of their love story. If that isn't a girlhood wedding dream, I don't know what is.
Jake proposed with a very special ring which originally belonged to Millie’s mother, Kelly. The sentimental choice, coupled with Kelly’s involvement in the proposal planning, added such a lovely extra layer of family involvement and emotion to the moment.
If you're planning on getting engaged and keeping everything secret right now, you may want to consider involving some key family members, to make the proposal extra special.
A Tuscan Dream at Villa Cetinale
The wedding took place at Villa Cetinale, a 17th-century estate in the heart of the Tuscan countryside. Known as one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Italy (and recently featured in the season three finale of Succession which is my favourite show right now), this villa is steeped in history and elegance. If money is no object - then this is the perfect destination.
Set amongst expansive gardens, a private chapel, and hidden hermitage trails, the villa was a secluded retreat where Millie and Jake could say their vows in total privacy. Their ceremony took place beneath an archway overflowing with white blooms, surrounded by towering greenery and close family.
If you’re drawn to the idea of a destination wedding that feels like a private retreat, this style is worth considering. A countryside manor or estate, even here in the UK, can give you that same sense of stillness, luxury and escape. I did something similar for my own wedding at Offley Place, and it created the most magical weekend for our guests.

The Floral Archway of Dreams
The floral design for their ceremony was, of course, breathtaking. A grand archway of crisp white blooms framed the couple's vows, set against the greenery of the Italian landscape. The aisle was also lined with matching white florals, creating a dreamlike effect that turned the entire space into a romantic sanctuary.
The flowers included baby’s breath, roses, and hydrangeas, arranged in layers for softness and volume. The choice to keep the colour palette completely monochrome gave the whole setting such a timeless, elegant look.
Floral arches are always a beautiful way to create focus and intimacy in an outdoor setting. And if you prefer a less structured style, I had a “broken arch” for my own ceremony, it still created the same sense of magic, but in a more modern, asymmetrical way, which worked better for me.
Transforming your outdoor areas with your florals can bring such a personal touch to your wedding, I would always recommend going big if you can!
A Bridal Wardrobe with FOUR Looks
Millie didn’t settle for just one gown. Of course not.
In true celebrity style, she had four different bridal looks, each perfectly chosen to reflect a different part of the celebration. And each one making me more jealous than the last!
Millie’s pre-ceremony look featured a vintage-style Valentino gown with a silk corset and cap-sleeved lace bodice. This soft, vintage aesthetic was perfect for pre-wedding portraits and added an air of classic elegance. Yes, if you didn't know you needed a pre-ceremony dress then now you do!
Her ceremony gown was a custom Galia Lahav design inspired by the label’s ANAIS dress. A corseted bodice, fishtail silhouette and long lace-trimmed veil making for a really iconic, romantic moment.
For the reception, she changed into an Oscar de la Renta halter gown with intricate lace and a more relaxed feel, complemented by her hair worn down. I love when brides take their hair down for the reception, it just feels really soft and beautiful and makes a big difference to the look.
Finally, her late-night party dress was a fun, flirty off-the-shoulder mini - also Oscar de la Renta - which she paired with Jake’s Tom Ford bow tie in a playful photo moment, blowing bubblegum and looking every inch the fun-loving bride. After all, she's still in her early twenties!
The lesson? If you’re planning multiple looks, consider matching each to the mood of the moment: dramatic for the ceremony, sophisticated for dinner, and something light-hearted and danceable for the party.
Why not?
Choosing the Perfect Officiant
One of the most heartfelt details of Millie and Jake’s wedding was their choice of officiant. Matthew Modine, Millie’s Stranger Things co-star and on-screen father figure.
Having known Millie since she was eleven, and being the first person in her life to meet Jake, Matthew was deeply honoured to lead their ceremony. He even wrote their vows, making the ceremony feel really personal. These days it feels like we're moving towards this kind of detail - i've been seeing it more and more, and I do love the special unique element it adds.
This is such a lovely reminder that choosing someone close to you to officiate can bring a sense of comfort and meaning to the day.
Matching Couples Outfits
Though not technically part of the wedding day itself, Millie and Jake were spotted wearing matching couple’s outfits and Americana-style merch in the lead-up to the wedding.
I really thought I would hate this, but in actual fact I really loved it! I think it works so well because they didn't try to make it classy or cool - they opted for vintage, casual with a bit of humour, and it just added a real lightness to the whole celebration, especially as the wedding was so classic in style.
This is your sign to have fun, and let some things not match the whole overall look - just because. There are no rules, except that it should be exactly how you want it to be.
Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi’s wedding was one of the most romantic weddings I've seen in recent years, and in a lot of ways it felt really simple (yes, I'm saying this about a wedding that involved 4 dresses, so maybe I'm going crazy)
Rumour has it that a second celebration is planned for 2025, which we’ll definitely be watching closely.
If you’ve taken inspiration from their day, I’d love to hear about it! Let me know how you’re planning to personalise your own wedding in the comments or over on Instagram @the.curated.wedding.
